WHO HAVE ADDITIONAL DISABILITIES

MARCH 3rd 2006

PRESENTED BY DOLLY BHARGAVA

This interactive and full day workshop will provide information to the participant on various communication techniques, strategies and modes (such as signs, objects, pictures) in order to design an individualized and appropriate communication system that reflects the individual’s abilities and meets their communication needs. Communication strategies for individuals who have high support needs (e.g. still learning about objects); medium support needs (e.g. understanding objects, gestures); low support needs (e.g. understanding signs, pictures, written word etc.) will be provided. Intervention ideas on developing the individual’s skills in daily routine, preferred and sensory activities in a variety of settings will be discussed.
